Ava took a deep breath. "Yeah..see you on the other side." She whispered . Shouldering the rifle and Tomcat and holding the trigger loosely on the shotgun, Ava followed suit. She kept her eyes on the zombies, seeing one or two more of her students. No. No, they're not my students, they're zombies. Ava thought, more to just convince herself though. She came around the car, more and more zombies turning, their groans becoming a little louder. "Good luck." Ava murmured again. The shotgun felt like an anchor in her hand, knowing she would have to shoot through her now dead students to get in. Shaking the feeling off Ava knew she just had to keep telling herself that they weren't human anymore. They didn't know who she was anymore...all they knew was they they wanted to kill her. Ava watched Brian out of the corner of her eyes, seeing him take out the silencer. A barely noticeable shiver ran through her spine..but not because she was scared about going through with this.

Brian took a couple short seconds in screwing on the silencer while Ava tried to gather her wits. Brian kept the rifle pointed up towards the sky while keeping his elbow tucked in tucked at his side. He looked at Ava starting to worry for her about going through this. "Are you sure you want to come?" Brian watched her still form with knowing eyes. He truly did know how this felt to her. One time on an operation in Afghanistan he had lost his closest friend to a Jihad ambush. But this was nothing compared to that. A zombie came at Brian slowly from the side. Brian quickly unsheathed his knife and dug into the zombie's skull from the top with a sickening squishing sound. As the zombie fell Brian pulled the knife back out. "These kids in there. What are their names?" Brian started to wipe the blood off the blade on the side of the car. What he meant was the kids inside the library and not the ones on the street. He needed names so he knows what he would be looking for once inside.

"They're like my family of course I want to go through with it." Ava hissed quietly. "From the looks of the zombies out here..two are missing..Brian..and Adel. If there are any survivors they'd be the ones." Ava said shortly, shooting at one of the zombies who came closer to her as well. "This..is getting old." She shook her head. It was though..all the zombies..and shooting..it was almost becoming a repetitive process. "I'll see you on..when I see you." Ava finally finished and then started moving forward. The zombies were moving now, hearing Ava's gun shot, they looked ready to swarm her. Ava kept her wits, staying alert, a few seconds, then she ran to the door. She shot at a few more zombies reaching the entrance. She knew at least one had to have been a student. Ava shook the thought off one last time before quickly pulling open the door and slipping inside.

Brian silenced a zombie with quietness and adeptness skillfully with the squeeze of the trigger all while listening to Ava. "Alright, alright." Brian responded to her impatient hiss. More of the zombies started to become drawn to their talk. Also Brian started to take them down but decided to reserve his ammo for the inside. Ava took down some zombies with the shotgun which drew more of them. Then Ava moved. Brian melee'd a close zombie. Watching Ava reach the steps Brian switched his Commando to single shot instead of full auto. "Matt and Adel. Got it." Brian spoke more to himself as he slid over the front of the car just as a zombie tried to dive for Brian but missed. Brian jogged for the stairs and took them two at a time. Brian reached the top just as Ava slipped inside. However, Brian managed to slip his hand between the door before it closed and closed it behind him. Watching Ava disappear down the hall he couldn't help but think just how kickass she was. A smirk appeared on his as he ascended to the second floor in seach of the students.

Ava had heard the door open and close again before she had gone out of ear shot. "Can you hear me?" She asked quietly, double checking that the ear piece worked. She had pocketed the shotgun and now readied the Tomcat. It was so erie..the Library was so silent, and seemingly deserted. Before all this the Library would have been bustling with students trying o meet term papers, random people just walking around. Shaking her head Ava sighed softly. She heard movement, and quickly turned, ready to shoot. "Don't." The voice started Ava just a bit, it was familiar, slightly deep. "Matt." She whispered..slightly surprised, and it showed in her voice. The young man came out from behind the bookshelf. His light brown hair fell slightly over his eyes. "Ms.Taylor..?" he said slowly..obviously surprised at all the guns and the two swords she carried.
Ava nodded slowly. "Oh thank god." She whispered. "Brian..I found Matt." She said, seeing Matt's confused look she just shook her head. "I'll explain later." She said simply. "Now..where is Adel?..I saw Randy..and the other two..out there with the..other zombies." Matt nodded again. "Yeah..we tried..we couldn't save them..I don't' know where Adel is..we got split up..awhile ago." Ava smiled faintly and nodded. "Alright..we'll look for her now." She said softly, moving over a bit and hugging Matt lightly. It just felt so much better knowing at least he was ok..and now she just hoped Adel still was.

Brian moved from the shadows to see the form of a nimble girl in the corner crouched against it. Brian lowered his weapon and spoke softly because she had to have seen him coming. "Are you Adel?" Brian could see her nod. "Alright. Come with me. I will get you to safety." Brian helped her up by giving her a hand to her feet. Brian pressed a finger to his ear piece. "Ava, I've got Adel. We are going to make our way downstairs." Brian moved to the window to look out to the front. No way to get to the car. "Ava, we need a new out, car is compromised. Wait, stand by." Brian turned to Adel. "I need you to run downstairs. Ava will meet you in the hallway. Tell her to not move outside until she hears a blast. After the blast all of you need to run to the car. Got that?" Adel nodded. "Good." Adel exited first and Brian turned to the window. "Ava come in. Adel is going to meet you downstairs on the first floor. I am going to get those Infected away from the car. I told Adel to tell you something. Listen to what she says." As Brian talked he prepared the first stage of his plan.

"Brian found Adel." Ava said, feeling a lot better now .Matt seemed pretty relieved at this too. "Alright. We'll be waiting for her." Ava said, keeping her voice somewhat quiet still. She shouldered the Tomcat and took out the shot gun again, "We're going to the stairs. To meet Adel." She explained to Matt, motioning for him to follow. It was obvious he was still getting used to the image of Ava carrying weapons. Mainly because she had always said it wasn't right to use weapons..unless there was a reason. Well..there was definitely a reason to be using them now. Ava quickened her pace just slightly as they neared the stairs, stopping at the bottom, waiting for Adel. Ava watched Matt a moment, he seemed very disoriented in a sense. Well he has a right to be..but..both of them will be safe soon. Ava thought, shaking her head slightly.

Adel was so confused as she ran down the hall quickly. She was usually the giddy, bubbly girl in the class but over the past few weeks she had gotten to be so quiet. Her footsteps pitter-patted off the marble as she reached the stairs and started to climb down her hand gripped the wooden banister. As she quickly walked down her hands trailed along the banister. When she reached the bottom she spotted Ava and Matt and her heart rose. "Oh my god!" She splurted out just at the sight of seeing them alive, her knees felt weak with happiness. She gave Ava a quick hug when she reached the bottom. Adel didn't think she could cry anymore given the past few days. She felt tear dry.
But seeing them alive made her day brighter. It made her happy. "Ms. Taylor!" Adel cried happily. Adel had always developed a tight friendship with her teacher. Adel regarded the fact that Matt was standing there for a second just to make sure what Adel saw was real. After a few seconds of keeping her hands around Ava's neck she got her answer. Adel then turned to throw her arms around Matt in an even tighter hug. She placed her cheek to chest since he was a little taller then her.

Ava hugged Adel tightly back. "I'm so glad you're alright." She said, hugging her again. Having at least two of her students alive now was absolutely thrilling, she felt worlds better. Matt tilted his head a huge grin breaking out on his face as he saw Adel. He hugged her back just as tightly and leaned down a bit, kissing the top of her head just lightly. He and Adel had never really gotten along in class..they were always arguing about some silly thing. Ever since this happened though, they had both taken up position as leader so to speak, and had gotten a little closer.
Ava watched them with a slight smile. "Never thought I would see the day." She suddenly turned serious again. "Adel, what did Brian tell you?" She asked, biting her lip lightly. Whatever he had said was probably vital for them. She looked up the stairs a moment, hoping too that he wasn't about to put his life in danger for them. Shaking her head a bit she looked back at the pair. Matt nodded, looking down at her again. "Yeah..what'd he say?" he asked sounding a bit curious..and still wondering who exactly Brian was anyways.

Brian slid his pistol out of the holster at the side of his belt. He flipped the gun over and smacked the window. The window shattered in one place. Brian watched as a crack slowly took the window to pieces. Brian leaned over the side and looked down. He surveyed the area. He noticed the car was about 100 kilometers straight ahead and slightly to the left. Brian slid his pistol back into the holster and unscrewed the silencer on his Commando. He then swung the Commando to his back and hopped onto the window sill. Clutching the rifle's strap he fetched into his harness and retrieved a coil of thick black string.
Still holding onto the string Brian tied one end to the metal spire sticking out from the concrete sill and let the other end drop to street level. Brian rubbed his hands together and grabbed the rope. He slid to the ground and whipped around knocking a zombie in the head. Brian swung the rifle to his front and aimed. He hunched slightly over as he moved quickly. Pulling the trigger every second to quell the threat. Brian jumped onto the top of their car and pressed the 'talk' button down. "Ava. When you hear the explosion run for the car and just drive. I've got 40 pounds of shit your pants and you really don't want to watch what happens or be anywhere near it when it happens." Brian spoke hoping that Adel went into details while explaining.
Brian reached into another pocket as he kicked a zombie away. Brian leaped over the nearest zombies to the pavement and dashed for the stairs, climbing two at a time until he was at the top, near the entrance. He dropped two small plastic mines near the first set of columns then made a jog to the second set. He dropped two more and jumped onto the ledge on the side of the stairs. He leaped off and dashed down the street, away from the penthouse. Brian didn't stop running nor did he turn around. He only ran while keeping his rifle swaying at his side while he squeezed his automatic to silence the dead for good. Brian ran about 1 yard away from the library and turned around. The zombies were closing in however he dropped a final mine. "Fuck you." Brian mumbled as he placed the nozzle of his automatic to a zombie's forehead and pulled the trigger.
The zombie fell. Brian pushed one out of the way as he made his to a pedestrian crossing light. He jumped for the yellow bar and pulled himself up onto it and raised the detonator. "Ava. Get ready to run. Get to the car and hightail ass back to the penthouse. Don't come back for me.. I will make my own way back." Brian hovered his thumb over the red button as he peered down the street, waiting for them to get closer to him. " 5..4..3..2." Brian pressed the button. A loud explosion filled the middle of the street throwing zombies some 20 feet in the air in all directions. Brian raised his rifle and began picked off zombies from his perch. Brian pressed the talk button down. "Ru-" Brian didn't bother saying the full word. He was to occupied picking off the zombies as they drew slowly closer in battalion sizes. That explosion would wake up the entire city.

The explosion shook the building, Ava cried out in slight surprised. She looked quickly to Matt and Adel, then motioned for them to follow her out the front entrance. She still held her gun, making sure that she was ready to shoot any zombies that may have appeared. She hurried to the car, slightly worried about Brian, but knowing full well already he could hold his own. "Get in. We don't have much time." Ava said quickly, already seeing zombies starting to draw near. Mike and Adel quickly got into the back seat and and Ava slid into the driver seat. Shoot if they come close." She said, handing Mike one of the guns.
Ava started the car, ready to plow through the mass that had formed. "We wont' be safe until we get inside that penthouse." She said, before stepping on the gas and starting to drive. Ava watched the speedometer slowly crawl, higher and higher as she kept her foot on the gas pedal. She heard Mike shooting every now and then, but she was only intent on getting them to safety. In the back of her mind she absently hoped Brian would be ok..but he would be..she knew that. Shaking her head slight Ava looked back up, as the neared the end of the mass of undead.
Ava made a sharp right turn, only to be met by more zombies. God that explosion really had woken the entire city it seemed. Ava stepped on the breaks quickly, causing the car to jerk to a stop. "Is everyone ok?" She asked automatically, doing a quick survey of the area. It seemed empty..except for the zombies who were making their way closed. "We'll have to move fast." Ava said, but it seemed that she was talking only to herself.

"Godamnit!" Matt yelled with strain as he missed again. "I can't hold this thing straight." Matt tried his best to aim as best he could. He was having trouble shooting at the zombies as the car sped up. Matt tried his luck at just shooting blindly. He fired blindly hoping to hit anything until a store blew up as they shot past it. The flames expanded outward and shattered the glass. "Holy crap! I didn't do that." Matt stopped shooting for a moment to look out the back window and the dissapating smoke. "Alright. I think I did do that. I must have hit a propane tank or something." Matt knew well that he did. Matt looked back out again and saw the zombies in flames while still walking. "Damn."

Adel watched as Ava drove also wondering if they were going to make it. Another explosion made Adel shiver. "How many explosions are we going to hear today? It's giving me chills." Adel reluctantly looked into the rear view mirror, too afraid to roll down her window. Seeing the zombies burn while walking made her shift her eyes at the floor rather quickly. "Ok. Ok. Ok. Ok. I didn't just see that. Oh my god." Adel tried reassuring herself as fear slowly filtered into words. "Matt, I beg you, please sit normally so I don't have to add seizure to injury" Adel breathed repeatedly to keep herself from violently spazzing from what she just saw. "Is everything closed and locked?" Adel spoke as she continued to breathe. Her eyes darted around the inside of the car to make sure everything was locked down.
Adel's cheeks and lips were puckered like she had just eaten a piece of sour candy. She was breathing so violently to keep herself, well sane. As they flew past zombie after zombie she kept her shoulders tucked inward and her gaze staring at the glove compartment. Her stomach heaved up and down. Her fingernails were dug into the edge's of the leather seat so firmly they left claw marks. Suddenly Adel stopped breathing. "I hope that man can make it back. Is he coming back to this penthouse? Silly me. Of course he is. He looks so.. soldier like. Is he going to make it? I hope so. I really do. That explosion was loud. Not the store one the one the man made. Did he make the store explode to?" Adel squeezed her eyes shut. "I'm sorry. Ranting. I rant when I am half scared to death. But I am more than half scared to death. I am terrified."
Adel reached over her shoulder and pulled the seat belt across her. She didn't stop looking at the glove compartment even as she pulled the belt to the lock. She breathed lightly when it clicked. Her hands went back to gripping the seat. She found herself breathing lightly now even though she was still frightened. "It's going to be ok. We are going to make it to the penthouse and... this penthouse. Is it high up? I hope its at the top floor. At the very top. So that way they can't get to us. Wow. My insecurity level is ridiculous." Adel finally looked through the windshield to see massive herds of more zombies. "Oh god." She looked back down. "Matt. Weren't they not coming herds hours ago? The streets were so quiet earlier. That explosion that man made practically turned the city against us." Adel started to feel shivers again.

"Calm down Adel, please." Ava turned her head slightly, looking at the girl and sighed softly. Then she turned her head to Mike. "Nice job on the store Mike." An almost invisible smile traced Ava's lips. Then the smile was gone and her eyes narrowed slightly. The zombies seems to be moving fast, if that was even possible. "When I say 'Go' we make a run for the front entrance." Ava had her hand on the door handle. "We make a dash for the elevator and pray to God that it still works..because if it doesn't we'll be taking the stairs..and that won't be too pleasant either." Ava took a deep breath and then carefully opened up her door.
"Adel, take off your seatbelt, we need to move fast." Ava kept her eyes on the zombies as she spoke though. She counted slowly inside her head. 3..2...1... "Go!" Ava shouted and quickly got out of the car. She kept her gun trained on the zombies as she walked back wards to wards the entrance as quickly as she could. Ava stole a glance at Mike and Adel just as she reached the entrance and the zombies were only a few feet away. They didn't have much time.

Matt reached for his door handle. "It was a lucky shot." He pushed the door open and jumped out of the car spinning once to check his surroundings. "Adel. Take my hand." Matt quickly raised a shaking hand to shoot a zombie but he missed again. The bullet tore through the zombie's chest. "Adel. Please." Matt turned around to shoot a zombie in the leg. Matt wouldn't move until Adel got out of the car. He kept his gun trained and level. "My hand is shaking no wonder I can't shoot straight." Matt now realized how badly his hand was shaking. "Oh man. I need some coffee or something." Matt turned to Adel and saw she was still shaking. Matt also noticed that Ava was backing towards the front door.
