Brian threw open the fridge door and grabbed a can of beer and a bottle of water. Walking back over to the living room he handed the water to Ava. "Brian." He introduced himself as he strode over to his couch and plopped down onto it. "I'm sorry I don't have ice. The ice maker is sitting on the corner of 6th and 8th right now in pieces. With this whole thing with turning into a zombie I had to do more preventive measures. If you look around everything is canned or packaged." Brian playfully pointed at his forehead to show he was a step ahead of the game. As he did his sleeve fell away to reveal his fully tattoed arm. A satisfying hiss soon prevented Brian from saying anything else as he popped the can.

Ava laughed softly. "Eh, no worries. I'll live." She smiled, opening up the bottle and taking a drink. "6th and 8th? Nice." She smirked just slightly, then nodded. "Yeah..I know what you mean..though..I've just been wandering around a lot ever since it happened..just staying away from zombies." She smiled faintly, looked at his arm a moment. "Nice tattoos." Ava commented, drinking some more of her water. She moved into the living room and sat on the couch a moment. "So what did you do? To afford this place?" Ava asked, tilting her head a moment to look over at Brian again.

Brian let the cool liquid run down the inside of his throat. He rested the bottom of the can on his leg. "Oh this place was bought with a paygrade that I was given for working for the president. Thats why I am so good out there." Brian pointed with a steady finger to the window to mention his actions earlier with the zombies. "They trained me well." Brian took another sip of his beer. "But what about you.. why were you alone out there?" Brian didn't want to intrude in her privacy but he was curious as to why she was walking alone.. if there was a reason.

"Well that's a priveledge..working for the president." Ava said with a smile, then paused when he asked about her. "Well..I'm a teacher really..Enligsh. When it first started..I was trying to get all my kids to a safer place." She paused. Then..somehow I got separated from them..and..I've been wandering ever since. I have a bad feeling though..that..they are all Zombies now too." Ava sighed softly, drinking some more of her water. "It's so weird..just looking outside..and not seeing the sidewalks so crowded and all the traffic. She drank some more of her water, her eyes wandering around the room again.

Brian stood up after speaking and walked over to the window to look down onto the street. He leaned against the door frame and he crossed his arms. He took another sip while he listened to Ava. "A teacher, huh? Tell me, what's a teacher doing with two swords riding on her back?" Brian turned to face Ava with a quizzical look on his face. "I'm sorry about your students. I can see in your eyes that you really cared for them." Brian seemed to be in heavy thought for a second before speaking up again. "Its a shame to not know what really happened to them. If you want I can go to the place where you guys were seperated to make sure. You can stay here if you want while I go." Brian remained standing and looking at Ava for her answer to his offer. "Besides, I am better prepared for deep incursions."

Ava laughed gently. "Eh..long story? I actually found the swords in an abandoned Martial Arts studio...I used to walk by there all the time..and like..stop to watch them practice with the swords..I guess...I kinda just picked it up." She laughed a bit again. "Yeah..I treated all of them like my family..and..ina sense they were. I did't..well don't have a husband or boyfriend or anything." Ava shrugged, finishing off her water. She looked up a bit when he said he would go out looking for them. "See..now there..is where you can not go alone." Ava said, standing up as well and turning to look at him. "I didn't leave them all in one place..I split them in groups and instructed them on where to go.." Ava paused a moment. "If there are any survivors..and I do hope there are..they will probably not be all in one place." She explained shortly. There was no way she would stay alone..and..she was starting to feel different. Maybe..braver? Ava didn't know..all she knew is she wouldn't be left behind. As Ava turned thoughts in her head..it was then that she realized..her shotgun was most likely still lying near the Hudson River.

Brian listened to her reason for wanting to come and thought that she couldn't be more right. "Alright. It would make a whole lot of sense if you came along. That way we can go to each spot and see if your students are there." Brian drained the last of his beer and placed it onto the table in front of the couch after walking towards it. "Don't worry about your shotgun. I have heavier firepower here. I have different types of rifles lying on my bed." Brian pointed in the direction of the room. "Help yourself. We are going in hot so take as much firepower as you can carry. I don't know how far these kids are but they will be surrounded by every single walking dead down there. It's going to be a fight to get to them. Do you know for certain where one group is?" As Brian talked he walked into the bedroom and back out into the living room where he came back with different high power rifles and pistols.

Ava listened to him patiently. "Thank you..and yes..atleast one group should be at the library on 8th avenue. " Ava thought quickly then nodded. "yeah, 8th avenue. If there are any survivors..that would be the closest place to look." She said, disappearing into his bedroom a moment. She came back out carrying about the same stuff that Brian was. "I'm going to miss that shot gun." She laughed a bit, examining a Beretta 3032 Tomcat she had picked up. "Nice assortment." Ava commented, looking back up at him, then glancing out the window. "I think..another group should be somewhere on Broadway..maybe in one of the old theaters.." She was half thinking out loud as she spoke though. Blinking a moment Ava glanced at her arm again. "Before we head out..we should take care of this.." she sighed, motioning slightly to her cut.

Brian picked up a Commando Variant and cocked it back as he spoke. "We should hit the library first. If there are survivors there we should bring them back here before going to the theaters. I can't have a twitchy trigger finger on the team. No offense." Brian sat down on the couch and slipped a mag into cartridge. He placed that down onto the table and picked up a D. Eagle. The long pistol looked bigger in his hands as he slipped a mag into this one. "As for the software.. it came with the job." Brian disappeared back into his bedroom and came back with a battle harness on. He slipped the Desert Eagle into the holster on the harness and slung the Commando's strap over his shoulder. He let Ava get prepared as he walked back to the balcony and stared down at the thousands of dead.

Ava nodded, aiming the Tomcat a moment. "Yeah. Agreed. They're smart kids..I trust they could figure out a way to defend themselves." She said. She looked at Brian as he stepped outside, then shoulders her swords again, picking up another rifle she had found. At least I hope they were smart enough. she thought to herself as she finished getting ready. "I agree with that too..them coming back here. I think they would be so grateful to be somewhere safe." She said walking back into Brian's room a moment. She grabbed some more ammo, then, glancing around she found a small knife. Grabbing it, she slipped it into one of her other holsters, then went back out. Ava took a deep breath then walked outside to Brian, looking down as well, a barely noticeable shudder funning through her body.

Brian stood on the balcony waiting for Ava to show she was ready. His tattoed arms crossed over his chest as he stared down at the battlefield. It was a hike to the library espcially through this crowd. As Ava came to a stop next to him Brian looked at her as he took a step towards the balcony. "Here's the deal. We hit the library and tell them to come straight back here. Then again they don't know the way, but we will play it by ear knowing how much you don't want to be seperated during this."
Brian handed her a pair of gloves and slipped a pair on his own hands. He flexed his fingers inside the leather to adjust his fingers' positions. Brian slipped out a small pack of gum and slipped a stick out. He offered some to Ava before slipping it back into a small pocket on his harness. He turned around to face the balcony. "Since I have more expierence, listen to everything I say down there. In closing, I will go down first. When I hit the ground I will set up a position to cover your descent. When you see me start shooting then you make your way down and get to me ASAP from there we will make our way to the library."
Brian grabbed the rope and slid down, ranger style. As soon as he hit the ground he ran for the car.. his rifle cradled in his arms like a sleeping baby.. as he stayed low. He reached the car and settled his rifle down on the hood and peered down the sight. He took a deep breath as he wrapped his finger around the trigger. "Come one, come all." Brian was in the middle of setting up a shot.. the sign of Ava to make her descent. Brian pulled the trigger and all the zombies moaned and ran in his direction as Brian went cover crazy and started unloading on every zombie he saw.

"Alright." Ava's eyes traveled back to Brian. Of course she didn't want to get separated, especially not with so many living dead walking around the streets. She put on the gloves and sighed softly as she watched Brian descend. Adjusting the gloves slightly she waited for her signal, all the while thinking about her students. "They can follow directions." She whispered to herself as she noticed him starting to load up his rifle. As the Zombie's attention was turned, Ava started to climb down. She dropped dropped the the ground and then held the shotgun she had grabbed..just in case. Ava stayed still a moment, then started to run, shooting at the few zombies who had spotted her. Ava went around, getting into the passenger seat with slight difficulty. Then shot at the zombie who was following her.

Once Ava had entered the car Brian slipped a mag in and dived into the car. He hotwired the car again and drove down the street. He pulled onto 8th Avenue in seconds and pulled the car to a stop in front of the massive library. "Squeaky brakes." Brian commented as he scooped up his rifle. "We have to do this quick. In and out." Brian said motioning toward the zombies in front of the building. Brian dug into another pocket of his harness and handed something to Ava. "Put this in your ear. Just speak and I will hear you and vice versa. This is where we split to cover more ground. That place is big. You take the ground, first and second floors. I'll sweep the rest. If you find anything speak up. I'll let you know if I find anything as well. If the shit hits the fan rendeavouz back at the car." Brian looked at Ava as he spoke to make sure she understood.

Ava nodded, putting on the ear piece. "Understood." She said, putting some rounds into the Tomcat. She looked up at Brian again, then to the Zombies. "Good luck then." She said, hand resting on the door handle. She was calculating the best way to get around these guys. Of course there was no avoiding it, so she knew they would most likely have to shoot their way through. "Damned Zombies." She mumbled to herself looking back at Brian once more. "Anything else before we split?" she asked, tilting her head slightly. Ava didn't' realize she had been holding her breath until she shifted slightly again, exhaling. She turned her attention to the zombies again though, still thinking, then she froze. "Oh god..it's Randy." She breathed, seeing one of the zombies who were now looking to wards them. Randy Patterson had been one of Ava's more intelligent students..seeing him like this..a little tiny part of her died.

Brian rested his hand on the handle of his rifle. "That's it. Keep your head down and your gun up." Brian scanned the zombies for a second while Ava gasped at the sight of her student. Brian looked back at Ava while his hand moved to the door. "I. don't know what to say." Brian spoke when Ava fell silent, he could see the sorrow in her eyes. Brian knew how it felt to lose someone. The zombies were starting to realize they were there. "We have to move." Brian chanced a glance over at Ava. "See you on the other side." Brian pulled open the door and stepped outside. He raised his rifle and motioned for Ava to get out. Brian reached yet again into his harness and pulled out a silencing tube and placed it at the top. This way he could buy a second in silence without alerting the group.
